What do cats & corn have in common?

Apparently, my cat likes corn on the cob. On Sunday we went to Engelbrecht's Orchard and picked up 3 ears of sweet corn. I left it on the counter and last night my husband asked me if we were planning on eating it. I said yes and he proceeds to tell me that the cat wanted to eat it too. He just about devoured 3 ears of uncooked corn. I am surprised that he isn't sick today! Anyway, here is a picture of the corn after he tore into the bag:

And here is the guilty party (unfortunately, we didn't catch him with corn on his face):

Lori + Keith

Lori and Keith were married this past weekend at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Princeton. It was a beautiful wedding and the weather couldn't have been better. I even had a few minutes after arriving at The Bauerhaus to steal them away for a few intimate photos. Congratulations to both of you and thanks for sharing your special day with April and I.

Ethan Goes Home 09/25

Today I saw Ethan at the hospital for the last time because HE IS GOING HOME! I am so happy for him and his family. He is just now up to 5 pounds and breathing on his own, so he is able to join his family. He wasn't too excited about getting into his going home outfit but he really seemed to like his carseat. I am sure all the nurses in NICU will miss you Ethan, but I sure am happy that you are well enough to go home.

This was Ethan's first shot at having The Power (aka remote control).

Ethan's daddy calls him "Mini Me".

Susan + Andy

Susan and Andy were married in Vincennes this past weekend. It was a lovely wedding and the rain held out for most of the day (at least until the reception). During the photo session prior to the wedding we decided to take some photos of the girls in the grass. Note to self: Never take girls in grass that used to be a field. As soon as we got into the grass, everyone thought they were being bitten by bugs, but turns out there are cockaburs all over the place. We had fun picking them off each other and then off to take more photos. Sorry girls! Anyway, it was a wonderful day and I really enjoyed trying some of the new flash techniques that I learned last week at the workshop. Congratulations Susan and Andy! I really enjoyed working with you both.

Flash Workshop

Last week I went to Indianapolis for a 12 hour workshop on flash photography with Neil VanNiekerk. It was a great workshop and I feel that my use of flash will continue to improve over time with this workshop. We had 2 great models, Dawn & Brooke, to take photos of. They were awesome and it was a long day for them too. Can you imagine having 8 photographers pointing cameras with flashes at you for almost 10 hours? I sure am glad I wasn't on their side of the camera! Here are a few of my favorites from the workshop:

Here is our fearless leader, Neil, being a bit possessive with our models.

And finally...a shot from downtown Indy. GO COLTS!

Ethan 09/22

Last night I received a call from Ethan's daddy with some wonderful news - he is going home on Thursday. YAY! I am so happy that he is all big and healthy and can finally go home to his parents. I am also a bit sad because I will miss visiting this little guy every week. I will be photographing him for the last time (at the hospital) on Thursday morning while he is getting ready to go home. For now, here are the images I shot today. He had his breathing tubes out for the first time so you can really see his cute little face.

Ethan 09/16

This has been an incredibly crazy week for me since Sunday's windstorm. Our power went out on Sunday and wasn't restored until Friday night. I was still able to visit Ethan this week but it took me a bit longer to get his images processed. I had the pleasure of meeting his parents (his dad I have know since birth) and watching them interact with Ethan. Now they are just waiting to get the word of when he can come home. Oh! I almost forgot...Ethan weighed in at a whopping 4 lbs. 8 oz.
