Let's talk business! Ann and Chris

One of my goals for this year is to post every event that I photograph on my blog. Just before I left for Chicago, February 3rd to be exact, I had the pleasure of photographing a private ceremony for Ann and Chris. When Ann called me she was full of wonderful ideas and told me that the wedding was to be a surprise for the parents. I was wondering how that would all turn out, but I was very excited to shoot a private ceremony since I have never done that before. I felt like I would have more freedom to roam about during the ceremony and be more creative. Well, the surprise turned out not to be a surprise but was still a beautiful ceremony with the addition of brothers and sisters in attendance. The ceremony was held in quaint New Harmony at Johnson United Methodist Church with their family dinner following at the Red Geranium. They hired my good friend and videographer, Dennis Allyn, to capture video during the ceremony. He will also be putting together a photo montage using some of my images of their wedding to play at their reception in June. Many thanks to Ann and Chris for allowing me to share in this special day with them! You can view the rest of Ann and Chris' images here. www.cunninghamwedding.weddingherald.com

Scrapbooking

If you have read my profile, you will know that I am into scrapbooking. I started this about 4 years ago when my son was born. Even though all of my wedding albums are designed digitally, I have never done digital scrapbooking. While in Florida, I visited K2 Scrapbook Studio in Sarasota and picked up a cd by Tinkering Ink that has all of their papers on a cd. Here is a page that I put together quickly using a photo of Andrew on the beach. I changed all of the original colors of the paper that was on the cd to match the colors in the image. I think I might like scrapbooking digitally.

I'm finally back home! - Part 2

As soon as I returned from Chicago, I had one day to pack and then we were off to Florida. It was quite a drastic change in temperature from Chicago to Florida! Andrew, my 4 year old son, finally got to meet his 2nd and 3rd cousins. He really hit it off with his cousin Sue and "Market" (a.k.a. Mark). The girls had fun playing with Andrew and burying him in the sand. Although it was difficult to leave such nice, spring-like weather, I am glad to finally be home so that I can start designing albums again. It was very difficult for me to choose my favorite images from our vacation, but here goes. I should also mention that we visited the Mote Aquarium in Sarasota. It is a non-profit organization and the U.S. Center for Shark Research. You can read more about it here. http://www.sarasotafl.org/cms/d/finding_nemo.php

My inlaws, Bill and Ethel, enjoying dinner at Captain Curt's Famous Oyster Bar. They were wonderful to invite us down to stay in their condo for a week. Ethel is an amazing cook so we rarely had to eat out!

David and I in front of the Sunshine Skyway Bridge in Tampa. This photo is completely unedited and was taken by my 4 year old son. I believe he might just turn out to be a photographer!

Here is a self-portrait of our family at Busch Gardens.

My little blue-eyed model. He loves to have his picture taken!

I'm finally back home!

The past couple of weeks have been very busy for me. I spent 3 days in Chicago at the Marcus Bell and Joe Buissink seminar on February 6-8th. I learned many new things about wedding photography and can't wait to try them out! I also met many of my friends from DWF and had the pleasure of traveling with my good friend and fellow photographer, Jeannie Turnock. One of the highlights of my trip was the wonderful dinner at The Signature Room in the John Hancock Building and the awesome view from the 96th floor.
